๐ Day-by-Day Itinerary
Depart Arusha and drive to Lake Manyara National Park, a haven for birdlife and home to the famous tree-climbing lions. Explore the groundwater forest, home to baboons and blue monkeys, and the grasslands where giraffes and zebras graze. The alkaline lake attracts thousands of flamingos, creating a spectacular pink shoreline. Overnight at Karatu Tloma Lodge.
After breakfast, drive to the Serengeti via the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The Serengeti is home to the Great Migration and over 70 large mammal species. Spend the afternoon exploring the central Serengeti plains, watching for lions, cheetahs, and vast herds of wildebeest. Overnight at Serengeti Heritage Camp.
Spend a full day exploring the Serengeti's diverse ecosystems. Visit the famous Seronera Valley, home to the highest concentration of leopards in Africa, and the Kopjes, rocky outcrops where lions often rest. Watch for cheetahs hunting on the open plains and hippos wallowing in the rivers. Overnight at Serengeti Heritage Camp.
After an early breakfast, drive to the Ngorongoro Crater for a full day of game driving. The crater floor covers 260 square kilometers and shelters approximately 25,000 animals, including approximately 20 black rhinos. Enjoy a picnic lunch at the Hippo Pool before ascending the crater rim. Overnight at Karatu Tloma Lodge.
After an early breakfast, drive to Tarangire National Park for a morning game drive. Tarangire is home to Tanzania's largest elephant population and iconic baobab trees. Enjoy a final game drive before returning to Arusha in the afternoon.
